North east of Kornwall in the Stormlands there is a bridge conncecting the eastern parts of the Stormlands with Kornwall. It is known to be a very important rout for trade, especially for wood, fine leather and fabric products, horse meat, corn and bread. The rout gains in signifficance in the long months after winter when the stream of the rivers in the Stormlands get so strong that trade by boat becomes nearly impossible because of the melting ice in the north of the continent.

The stream usually is very strong and there are many sharp and large rocks beneath the surface, making crossing by boat or swimming very difficult.

The bridge has been destroyed during a storm a few weeks ago. Many logs of wood have been transported here since then but there is no capacity to send qualified man to rebuild it. Bob the Builder (Commoner in Battle) is at the moment the only one staying in the house on the south-west end of the map, waiting for suited staff. He actually posted a note on the Korn-Gate in Kornwall to attract capable people to help him rebuild the bridge without success. If Bob the builder dies the Quest is over.

- Defend Bob the builder against attacking goats.

- Inspect the broken bridge. Find out that it was knocked over. Defend against more goats.

- Repair the Bridge: Stay here and rebuild the bridge (skill checks DC 12) and to defend it against giant goats while doing so. (The goats are riled up by the Giant Goat Alpha).

- Remove the source of Destruction: Boss fight - Defeat the Giant Goat Alpha that destroyed the bridge during a storm while it tries to set back the progress. It hates buildings near it's new found territory.

- Be send west by Bob the Builder to find out why Twigrest in the east has not tried to repair the bridge from the other side or be send back to Kornwall to Investigate why no staff was send by the mayor of Kornwall.

  1. Defend Bob the Builder: As the heroes arrive they hear screams for help. They see a small humanoid standing on the edge of the remeining brindge confronted with two giant goats threatining the person to push it into the river. There are many other goats on the map trying to fend of the heroes beofe they can save the half-Gnome known as Bob the Builder. At some point he may be pushed into the water and needs to be saved by the heroes or the quest will be lost. The remaining goats will flee at some point (Reward: 10 Rations per killed Goat, Harvest with Cooking Tools DC 10).
  2. Inspect the broken Bridge: As the fighting calms down the players have time to gather the following information:
    1. The Bridge was Pushed over by something strong and physical, no water or storm (Investigation). (It was pushed over by the Giant Goat Alpha).
    2. The Goats behaved very strangely. The kind of treated Bob the Builder like a especially valued target (Animal Handling). (The Goats work together to make sure the bridge does not get rebuild. To smart for a goat. The Giant Goat Alpha is the one telling them to).
    3. The wood stacked here has been chewed on by giant goats. It's like these beasts try to manipulate the ongoing work (Nature). (The Goats work together to make sure the bridge does not get rebuild. To smart for a goat. The Giant Goat Alpha is the one telling them to).
  3. Repair the Bridge: Every day each player chooses one of the following checks to contribute to building the bridge. It needs at least 15 successes to finish the bridge (Master can change the number). Creative checks are allowed as long they make sense to the Dungeon Master.
    1. Carry the wood (Strength Athletics)
    2. Push the wood-saw north of the building (Constitution Save).
    3. Cut the wood on the saw (Dexterity Woodworker Tools).
    4. Rebuild the foundation(Strength or Intelligence Masons Tools).
    5. Creative Check (Can be any check if it makes sense and is not one used above. Over the whole building time any skill can just be used once).
  4. Remove the Source of Destruction: After the bridge is finished the heroes will get a feast and can have a good night sleep one day before it is finished and the bridge will receive it's name. Strong rain starts to poor down from the skies and the stream strengthens. The trampling of a horde of goats can be heard.
    1. Defend Bob the builder from the charging horde of Giant goats (1xDays it took to repair the bridge). After that the heroes gain a short rest and the rain turns into a storm.
    2. Through the storm a terrifying scream of a beast can be heard even through the sound of rain. The Giant Goat Alpha appears and tries to tear down the bridge. It is accompanied by 1 Giant goat per Hero. The Giant Goat Alpha will attack the bridge until somebody attacks it or it successfully destroys the bridge with 6 hitting attacks on DC 20. If it succeeds these attacks the bridge will fall again and the alpha will disappear. During the fight the stream of the river will require a DC 12 Strengh save to stay were you are or you are pulled south 50 ft. and take 2d8 (8) slashing damage because of the rocks under the surface.
  5. After protecting Bob and defeating the Giant Goat Alpha the weather will calm down. After that the heroes and Bob walk onto the Bridge. Reward:
    1. Name the Bridge because of the much needed help.
    2. Every Hero gains 10 GP
    3. The Hero's gain Macon's Tools and Woodcarver Tools.
    4. The Hero's are informed that Twigrest or Kornwall should have send more help. Their behavior is very unusual - Confront he mayor of Kornwall, who was obligated to send workers or go to Twigrest and find out why not even resources were send.
