==== Frost Giants ====
[[Frost Giant's of the North]]
These beeings are devided into differen Frost Giant Covens, Relativeley small Groups, since Frost giants to prefere to hunt alone or in small groups. Threatened by the white dragons the frost giants always try to increase their influence over the barbaric Goliath tribes and other beings of the country. Because of their simple mindedness, they assume dominance by intimidation, strength and tests of skill. Every frost giant tribe does so by utilizing their own field of expertise. The different frost giant covens are in conflict with each other, rarely in combat, but always trying to exerting dominance over others, witch makes the light minded Goliaths a tool for their shenanigans.

Every Frost Giant Coven tries to assert control over the humanoids in the Eismarsch by forcing trials. Every Coven has their own trial. Win or loose will save the rest of a tribe, village or city from the wrath of the Coven, depending on the circumstances.
[[Goliath's of the North]]

===== Tenner Coven =====
"Everlasting, we watch. During a Blink we hunt. Make it worthwhile so the last strike might may be swift". The most famous and frightening of the frost giant Coven are the Tenner (Norway: Teath). They are led by Alfa, a huntress and Jarl of the Tenner, known for her excellent hunting skills, control over animals and her Companion Fenris, a snow wolf, taller and more vicious than any other. Utilizing animal companions they are the most prominent threat and challenge for tribes and other civilizations within the Eismarsch since they can pose a threat in a large area. The Tenner are said to be the smartest of the Covens, able to utilize magic and bringing up the cunning needed if necessary when the situation calls for it.

====== Trial: ======
One Individual awakes with a hunters mark on his/her body up to 1 year or until death, signaling that the hunt has begun. As long as the mark remains the rest of the tribe is safe. Beasts and members of the coven hunt the target to extinction. Interference of others will test the will of the Tenner, probably motivate them to pick another target from the same tribe next time or choose more drastic paths after the trial is over. The trial ends immediately after the curse mark is removed by heroic deeds or otherwise, sometimes granting the survivor a favor. Cursed ones are usually banished to save those around them.

===== Gull Coven =====
"The trader, the raider, the savior - Taken, not given". The most intimidating, unpredictable, materialistic and social of the covens, led by Kjell den Gyldne (Norway: Kettle to collect blood of sacrificed + the "the golden"). They are the pirates or the sea-born vikings of the frost giants. They are relatively social but everything has a price. There is a chance to survive their raids but just in change of something precious. Since recources are scarce the usually don't destroy everything but allow a tribe or so to recover for they want to collect tribute. They are said to be the most charismatic of the covens.

====== Trial: ======
After raiding or at any other time, survivors or humble citizens are given the chance to prove themselves. A Village, City or so are given a task to gather a "Tribute". This can be many things like treasure, slaves, blood or trained soldiers for a glorious slaughter. A time is given and after this time has run up the trubute has bo be delivered to a sertain place. If not, the punishment can be dire for there giants do not seek the fair fight but a decisive victory. To pay for the tribute tasked groupes usually have a raid an pillage themselves to achive the goal, thus coninuing the way of the Gull Coven.

==== Goliaths of the North ====
"Strong, proud and capable. Given a purpose we of giant blood will deem ourselves to be worthy no matter the trial!". These Goliaths are not easaly to be determined as being good or evil for many different tribes travel the Eismarsch. Any outsider of their kin it is convinced of their evil nature for their aggression paints them to be a threat to anyone standing. Strong and durable they are but cought up in their believes, which they hold very dearly. Goliaths of the north are nor Giant nor Dragon, so they find themselves as pawns in a power struggle of the two races, fighting the dragons and following the order of the Frost Giants like a religion for they see them as their older siblings, sharing giant blood. Conflicted by the different Covens of Frost Giants, claiming dominion over the tribes and trying to take control of those controlled by the competitors, they find themselves to be the spear of Frost giant kind, striking and following without a doubt.

"A Trial of the giants must be answered! Honor in death, glory in victory! Honor in death, glory in victory!"

"Kill the Lizard, spill their blood, bring the Dragon to the blade!"

Revision as of 19:56, 30 May 2024

The Eismarsch is located in the north-east of the known world and is one of the most deadly areas in the world because of it's freezing temperatures, hostile inhabitants and a general sense for self preservation shared by anything that lives here. The western parts are more civilized, inhabitat by dwarfs, deep gnomes and Snow Elves, trading valuable resources gained through hard work and sacrifice, while the east is filled with Frost Giants, White Dragons and many different but barbaric Goliath tribes, sacking any village they come across.
