The Light of war

edit edit source

Inspiration: Paris Catacomps

edit edit source

When the crypts overflew in paris at the end of the 17 hundreds and they rediscovered the old mine below the city they started putting the corpses there. The cripts have been so stuffed with the dead that oxigin was fading and the process of decomposition was limited so they turned into some kind of goo. Soap and Candle makers snuk down and took the fat of the corpses to create soap and candles from them. Creepy as fuck!

Basic Idea: Death Candles

edit edit source

An Alchemist of the opposing faction of a war sneaks into village after loosing his family and friends due to an attack of the local faction. He lives a live as candle maker and makes soap. The village is close to the war zone. People start to die when they leave the village and are nowhere to be found. For every corpse less death the candle maker show his "gratitude" to the families at the corpse less funeral and gifts a candle to the moaning family's. The candle is made out of the fat harvested from the body. That means - When a candle burns in the window of a villager it is a sign of moaning for a deceased while the candle itself is made from the deceased. No idea what happens with the meat. Creepy as Fuck!!!!!!!

  1. A candle maker has come to a village during the time of war to ease the pain of the village. Nice Person on the surface.
  2. The village was part of Kingdom A fighting Kingdom B near by.
  3. The Candle maker became a resident.
  4. Heros appear and save the candle maker and OTHERS from a roaming group of opposing soldiers.
  5. People have disappeared in the last months when they left the village. It becomes clear that more soldiers must be lurking in the woods surrounding the village. The corpses are nowhere to be found.
  6. When a person goes missing it usually takes a few days to search for the body.
  7. If it is not found there will be a corpse less funeral if they find something that belonged to the missing person and it indicates death.
  8. The family of the deceased will receive words of healing and presents to heal the pain, including a candle, that will be placed right on the highest window of the chapel, gifted by the candle maker.
  9. This has happened many times before as the villagers will tell, adults and children alike, and they hope it does not happen again. They start loosing the will to participate in the war for it brings just pain, even though some of the sons and daughters of the Village are fighting for Kingdom A.
  10. While the heroes are in town there are 3 deaths without a corpse, the last one of a child.
  11. The heroes try to protect the village during all 3 disappeariances.
  12. The las one seems odd, since they knew the child and have not noticed anything during their whatch, so they investigate.
  13. They ride to the nearest ruin of Kingdom B, where a violette fire has destroied the town - it is said.
  14. They find it burned down, many years ago and some of the buildings have been blown appart. The bones of many people are scattered, even those of children. It seems that something has ripped apart some of the buildings as the fire began and the flames burned violett. (What colour is best suited for a mideaval bomb? Hint to Alchemie)
