These beeings are devided into differen Frost Giant Covens, Relativeley small Groups, since Frost giants to prefere to hunt alone or in small groups. Threatened by the white dragons the frost giants always try to increase their influence over the barbaric Goliath tribes and other beings. They assume dominance by intimidation, strength and tests of skill. Every frost giant tribe does so by utilizing their own field of expertise. The different frost giant covens are in conflict with each other, rarely in combat though, but always trying to exerting dominance over others, witch makes the usually light minded Goliaths a tool for their shenanigans.

All differences aside all frost giants hate dragons, white ones in particular, love to hunt and respect the order of giants, thus evading direct inner conflicts between the different giant kind whenever possible and even following those higher in rank.

Every Frost Giant Coven tries to assert control over the humanoids in the Eismarsch by forcing trials. Every Coven has their own trial.

Frost Giant Covens

edit edit source

"Everlasting, we watch. During a Blink we hunt. Make it worthwhile so the last strike might may be swift". The most famous, barbaric and frightening of the frost giant Coven are the Tenner (Norway: Teath). They are led by Alfa, a huntress and Jarl of the Tenner, known for her excellent hunting skills, control over animals and her Companion Fenris, a snow wolf, taller and more vicious than any other. Utilizing animal companions they are the most prominent threat and challenge for tribes and other civilizations within the Eismarsch since they can pose a threat on a large scale. The Tenner are said to be the wisest of the Covens, gifted a natural intuition and a comparable highly developed hierarchy system. Contrarry to their barbaric nature they are said to be the most honorable for they despise trickery of any kind and value endured hardship and personal sacrifice. Their leading attributes are honor and strength.

"The strong serve, the weak obey"

"Those who follow will be tested, the victorious will overthrow, overthrown will follow."

"Win or loose, honor the path"

"Follow or die"

One Individual awakes with a hunters mark on his/her body up to 1 year or until death, signaling that the hunt has begun. As long as the mark remains the rest of the tribe is safe. Beasts and members of the coven hunt the target to extinction. Interference of others will test the will of the Tenner, probably motivate them to pick another target from the same tribe next time or choose more drastic paths after the trial is over. The trial ends immediately after the curse mark is removed by heroic deeds or otherwise, sometimes granting the survivor a favor. Cursed ones are usually banished to save those around them.

"No traders but raiders- Taken, not given". The most damaging, materialistic and intelligent of the covens, led by Kjell den Gyldne (Norway: Kettle to collect blood of sacrificed + the "the golden"). They are the vikings of the frost giants and have strong worriers, barbarians and talented sailors in their midst. Everything has it's price so trade is possible even though most often under pressure and they would never take an offer that remotely seems like they don't come out on top. There is a chance to survive their raids though, most often in exchange for precious goods. Since resources are scarce they usually don't destroy everything but allow enough victims to recover to collect tribute in the future. Their leading attributes are ambition and status.

""Yours" is "mine", you just don't know it yet"

"Tribute is paid, the one or the other way"

"We share an order, not the spoils"

"My gold suits you well"

After raiding or at any other time, survivors or humble citizens are given the chance to prove themselves. A Village, City or so are given a task to gather a "Tribute". This can be many things like treasure, slaves, blood or trained soldiers for a glorious slaughter. A time is given and after this time has run up the trubute has bo be delivered to a sertain place. If not, the punishment can be dire for there giants do not seek the fair fight but a decisive victory. To pay for the tribute tasked groupes usually have a raid an pillage themselves to achive the goal, thus coninuing the way of the Gull Coven.

"Giants rule has ended, with cunning we wait. Hunt with care for when all cattle died no command will be heard, no praises given to the whispering lion". The most feeble, cunning and charismatic of the tribes led by Loky, the whispering lioness, a powerful frost giant sorceress. The Leppe are despised by all other covens, known to be the only one with a larger goal in mind than immediate control or satisfaction. Their goal is to further their influence everywhere no matter the race for they plan to put the giants back into the position of dominance. Traders, sell swords and trappers follow this coven and some powerful magic users are found in their ranks. Even though they are the most sociable of the covens they are also known for their scheming, mischievousness and power hunger. Other Covens despise this one for their willingness to act against the moral compass of their own kind. Their leading attributes are cunning and influence.

"Honor - Reclaim, don't hold on to it"

"There is no dominance without dominated"

"You may serve me well"

"It is not a lie for I will make it true"

Infusing doubt is the most efficient weapon of the Leppe, curiosity their greatest ally. Most often the trialed ones are not even aware that they are acting in the name of this coven. It usually starts with subtle suggestions, dreams or orchestrated situations by the Leppe that spark an Idea conflicting the targets with their current world view. If successful trialed ones simply choose this coven as their new leading coven, even thanking them while others don't even notice that they have internally changed their ways to the Leppe's liking.
